today is sunday, december 28 2003, and the track was finally open! so i decided to get a few last runs in for the year. it went pretty well. the day was full of 11 second passes, 6 to be exact. my first pass was an 11.756 with my best mile per hour 119.43, with a bad 60 ft of 1.81. after this first run i had high hopes for my day. my second run i didn't have enough gas in the car, so after pulling a 1.69 60ft my car's nose hit the ground from lack of fuel. so that killed that run. my third pass was an 11.677 at 118.66 mph, with a 1.679 60 ft. I got three 11.81 passes, and one was an 11.743 pass, but i just couldn't get back to the 11.6 range because i was rushing each pass, my turbos wouldn't hold more than 17lbs of boost even after cranking the boost controller, I guess my waste gates are getting weak, plus I kept making small mistakes along the way and didn't let my car cool down enough. I am still pleased because my 91 Z with over 100 thousand miles on it was pulling consistent 11's all day long. If I had a few more times to practice I'm sure I could've done a little better, but I'll save that for next year. Rich from RZTperformance.com caught most of these runs on video, hopefully he will download them soon. that's all for now.
